Mary Sewell Cooper is a abstract and abstract expressionist painter, working in acrylic on canvas. She uses collaged charcoal drawings that incorporate stamped and etched forms on wet paper, which are sometimes done blindfolded. They are then blended with layers of color so that they appear to emerge from the canvas.
